Life without the kids!

Caleb has been at the grandparents since Thursday, and Tristan went yesterday. While I should feel ready to conquer the world, I must admit, I miss them terribly. Instead of getting lots done, I find myself wondering what to do. It just doesn't seem much fun to clean, cook, or do any chores with everyone gone. Maybe I'll stamp if Gene decides to play golf today. I think he and I are planning a trip to Amarillo tomorrow. That will be nice to not have to fight the kids while shopping. We are going on vacation next week, and we alway take our own food because we go stay at a cabin in New Mexico. We also plan on camping out for a night or two at the Great Sand Dunes outside Alamosa, CO. So we can get our shopping for that covered tomorrow. The card above is made with Golden Oldies. I just love this set. We know a bunch of jokers so it's always fun to have a silly card to send. I actually made this one for my dad for Father's Day. He would never wear clothes like the man on the card, but it was so much fun to do the paper piecing for his clothes. Hope you enjoy him. Blessings - Brandi

Too Many to do's???

Do you ever feel like you have too many to do's and not enough time???? I have so many things I want to get done, or finished, yet it seems, I just can't seem the time to get it done. But right now, life is about my family. So they have to come first. All of this other will still be here someday. But they won't be like this someday. The boys will be older and probably won't have time for Mom anymore, so now is the time to spend with them. Even if it means that things don't get done the way I would like them to. Oh well! This page is one of the ones I did at the retreat in May. I am really pleased with the end result. Just to show you how time goes, this was over 4 years ago. I was actually still pregnant with Caleb at the time. He was born a few days later, Tristan was turning 6 the next day. Go enjoy your families!
Blessings - Brandi.

Yes....I am still here!

I have actually tried to post a couple of times, but blogger wasn't liking the picture I wanted to add, so after getting frustrated, I would just have to walk away from the computer. I am sure none of you have ever experienced that. Well, I tried again today, with the same problem. Then I think, maybe it is the particular picture. Eureka. Problem solved. Apparently I have an issue with that picture. So here is a page I made at the retreat several weeks ago. I used a 6x6 page that I had received from a swap, added some bella rose designer paper, and some embellishments, and I love this page. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Have you Missed me?

I have missed you! Life has been crazy with caring for Caleb after his surgery on Monday. Having time for stamping or the computer, has been pretty much none. I am exhausted, because he cries out in pain in his sleep all night, with or without the pain medicine. He doesn't like the pain medicine, so at night taking it is verrrrrrrry challenging. He is doing better, drinking better, and even starting to eat a little. The nights and first thing in the morning is the most difficult though. But hopefully things are starting to turn around.
I made this card a couple of weeks ago. I got the idea somewhere, but don't remember where right now, of using designer series paper scraps, and making notecards. This one is a monogram notecard. I of course ran it through the big shot and then used punches for the monogram. Have a great weekend!

More fifth ave floral.

I cased this card from Patty Bennett's blog except that her's was a technique page for an album. I changed a couple of things on mine. It made a beautiful card. Would make a great Mother's Day card. We are doing this card at my technique classes the 18th and the 21st.
Just got back from preop for Caleb's tonsilectomy on Monday the 11th. He didn't like the drawing blood at all. His surgery is scheduled for 9:30 on Monday, so be praying for him and for us. I will probably be a basket case when I have to let him go back to surgery. Well, off to referee the boys again. Blessings - Brandi

Boys!

We survived the night with Caleb's goose egg. He seems fine this morning. Amazing how resilient they can be. This is another page I did over the weekend. I had several 6x6 pages from the last several years, that I wasn't using and decided to turn them into 12x12 pages (seems a waste to have them just sitting there!) This is one of them. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. These particular 6x6's were from a regionals several years ago. The stamps are long retired, but the end result is very cute!

YEEEOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

Caleb was spinning circles in the laundry room, fell, and broke his fall with his head on the tile floor. This is what it looked like an hour after it happened. Nice big goose egg up there. As you can see, it feel real good too! NOT! He went to bed without any problems, and is sleeping now. I won't be surprised if he ends up in our bed later. He has surgery on Monday to have his tonsils removed. Be praying for him. Blessings - Brandi

Hoppy Memories!

This is one of the page layouts I got done this weekend at the scrapbook retreat. I just loved how it turned out. I used the Hoppy Memories simply scrappin that is in the current Stampin' Up! catalog. This is pictures of Caleb and Tres. We lived next door to Tres in Stratford, and the boys were the best of friends.

Warm Wishes!

This card is actually appropriate for today's weather! We are currently 61 degrees. Yes..... I love it! So I took the opportunity to post one of the Christmas Cards I plan on having for my June Christmas card class. I decided use the Holiday lineup set, because I wanted to showcase the spotlight technique at my next technique class. I am very pleased with the results.
I just returned from a weekend of scrapbooking with some of my greatest friends. Be looking for some pages posted in the next days as I get them photographed and uploaded. Off to celebrate Tristan's scouting achievements for the year. By the way, did I tell you he got 203 AR points last week? I am very proud of him. Thanks for reading. Blessings to you and yours - Brandi
