Angel Coasters

Since the recipient has now received these, I can show ya’ll what I made.  Didn’t they turn out great!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Holy Triptych set and made a set of 4 coasters for a dear friend who loves and collects most things angels.  They turned out fabulous if I do say so myself.  I used the lumiere paint that Stampin’ UP! carried a few years ago, but you can do the same thing with the shimmer paint that is in the current Holiday mini, and it will be available as a catalog write in after Jan. 4.  I just added a drop of lumiere, and a drop of re inker and then painted it in.  I stamped the angel in black Stazon ink first of course.  Then using a sponge I dry sponged the lumiere all around the outside of the Angel, and then using a dry brush, brushed over the lumiere with pearl ex.  They are a lot shinier and sparklier in person.  Twyla called this morning, said she received them and absolutely loved them, so that is all that matters!

 

The kids are out playing in the snow.  It’s 29 degrees with I can only imagine what the wind chill is.  Up to 60 MPH wind gusts, so it’s not pleasant, but for kids, who have been dying to play in the snow, it’s pure enjoyment.  At least they got a White Christmas eve.  Don’t know how much will be around after today.  Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!

Manhattan One Sheet Wonder

 

I had a request for a set of cards to be made for someone.  They loved the set I had done using the baby wipe technique.  So using the retired Manhattan paper, I followed the same design.  They turned out great!

I used the embossing folders and the impressions plates to add some texture to the card fronts, and I am thinking I may need to make a set of these for myself.

My boys are home from their Grandparents now, my husband is finally feeling better and we all got a better nights sleep.  So now we can settle in and enjoy the Christmas season and the anticipation of the Christ child birth, presents, and visits from friends.

Baby album gift

Here is the cover of the album I made for a friend expecting a baby soon. She is decorating the nursery with black & white, and a little bright pink and green. I thought this Night 7 Day paper by Stampin’ Up! was the perfect fit.

I embossed the “H” with black ink and clear embossing powder. I used the pretties kit to add other embellishments to the pages. I love how this turned out.

Angel Alert Christmas Program

I know I've been kinda absent, and I apologize. I've been busy with the boys birthday's, the Christmas program, and of course Christmas. After I gave all the gifts out that I made, I realized, I didn't take any pictures of them, so, sorry for that. But here are some pics of the kids from the program. They did such a great job. I have taken some pics of more stuff now, so as soon as I have them uploaded, I'll share them.

This first picture is of Tristan waiting for the program to start. Looks thrilled doesn't he? He was a little nervous, but did a fabulous job with many lines to remember. He did Great!



And here is Tristan saying some of his lines as Gabriel, one of the Archangels. he was in charge of the Angel choir in the program.






And here is the group picture of all the little Angels. This picture was taken after our practice on Sunday, just before the performance. David, on the left, changed into black pants like Tristan for his role as Michael. The kids range in age from 3 years to 15 years. What a great job they all did. We were so pleased with all of them.

More Cupcakes!

For Tristan's 11th Brithday, I made these cupcakes to take to school for his class. He didn't have a theme in mind, so he thought these would be fun to "freak out" his classmates. They were a big hit, and lots of fun to make.

The first ones are TV dinner, including chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas & carrots, and chocolate pudding.

The next ones are spaghetti and meatballs. All this is made with cupcakes, icing and candy. Aren't they fun looking?

I promise, I have more stampin' projects to show you, but I have to get passed this weekend's activities before I can get those items ready to post.

Turkey's Anyone?

I decided Friday to venture into the world of cupcake making. (This from someone who in the not so distant past expressed extreme dislike for making cupcakes). In my opinion, it is much easier to make a cake, and leaving it in the pan, ice it. Voila, done! Not having to ice many individual cakes.

Well.... my best friend gave me this book called Hello Cupcake for my birthday (yes, that was months ago). I decided on a whim, that these would be cute to make, so I did it. Really, it was quite easy. Didn't even take all that long. And I think, they turned out quite cute. I gave several of them away, and then covered the rest overnight.

Well..... that wasn't a good idea, because the cookie piece for the feathers, got moist from being covered, and the next morning we had turkey's that had molted their feathers. Considering my express dislike for cooking, and the fact that I am planning on making some more, that should indicate to you that they are really not that difficult or time consuming.

Yes! I am still here!

The more I try to be good, and make regular posts, the more behind I get! I could go into a long litany of excuses, but, lets face it, we all have them, and that just doesn't cut it, does it. So, I will try to do better, even amidst the busiest time of our life. I've spent this week hashing out birthday plans with the boys. We've had to change our plans a couple of times, and now I think have things sorta figured out. Caleb has decided we can do a pirate theme, which gave me the excuse to get the pirate party kit & matching stamp set. So hopefully I will have those to show you after they come in. I need to take my camera down to my stamp cave, and take some photos. That seems to be the thing I don't get done. I just need to do it. I've actually got a lot of new things made, just haven't photographed them. The card posted here was done in a class a few months back. We embossed with clear embossing powder, and then used bleach and a watercolor brush to bleach the image. A really soft neat look. And of course, I had to use the texture plates and run them through the big shot. That is probably one of my favorite things to do. Just love the texture. Well, it's time to get ready for church. Can't believe we are so close to Thanksgiving. How can that be possible. I had hoped to get our Christmas cards finished today. Guess we'll see how that comes along.

Cool Kids simply scrappin

Here are some pages I made using the Cool kids simply scrappin' kit. I know I haven't updated my posts lately. Well, the lovely H1N1 flu hit our house. And if treated, you recover quickly, testified by my kids quick recovery. If you don't get treated, then you cripple along, feeling yuck for a week and half. So word to the wise, feel bad, go to the Dr.

Here are couple more pages that I created using the My Digital Software. I absolutely love the torn edges stamp set in the software. Spent the weekend scrappin with around 90 women. Got 35 pages done, some cards made, and other fun things done. Didn't get much sleep, but who goes to these things to sleep?????

My Digital Studio pages

Well, here you go. These are 2 of the pages from my first book. This was my trial of the new software, and to see what I could do. I am still learning all the new things that can be done, and the cool tricks and products that are available. Super fun, and this will be availble to everyone on October 1st. Gene just finished an album showcasing his Nicargua Mission trip. I'll put some of his pages on here soon too. We figured out some really cool things to do when he was doing his album. I should add, that he did the work himself. All I did was answer questions, and offer suggestions on color changes or stuff. So just wait until you see what he did. Super cool job!

Sweet Treat Cups!

Here are my first projects using the sweet treat cups and the Sweet Centers stamp set. This is really fun to play with. I created these a few weeks ago. I actually created some more this week, but haven't had a chance to take pics and get them uploaded. Since the blog is being neglected, thought I'd better get some new stuff uploaded.

I have a couple of new classes that are getting ready to be advertised. So be on the lookout for some fun new stuff. Also, I am having fun playing with the My Digital Studio, so hopefully I will get some projects uploaded from that as well.
