I know I haven't posted anything lately. Sitting down at the computer has been a rare thing the last few days. We have had a tragedy in our little community. A young family from our church was involved in a single car wreck, resulting in the loss of their almost 3 year old boy Daniel. Today is the funeral, which Gene will be presiding over. Needless to say, we have all been deeply involved in the emotions of this tragedy for the last several days. Please be in prayer for this family, for this church, for this community, and for Gene today. Hug your babies, and be grateful for them. It is a reminder that they are on loan to us from God for a short time. Some shorter than others. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Holiday Lineup Card

I just love how this card turned out. Isn't it just soooo Cute?!?!?! I am doing it for my stamp class next week. I have had several people look at this set, but not know how to watercolor, so I decided I needed to show them. The Designer Series Paper is Holiday Treasures and is really pretty too!

Another Calendar Gift

Here is another one of the Calendar gifts that I made for the Bazaar. I am really glad they didn't all sell, so I can give them as gifts. I am thinking Tristan's teacher will really enjoy one of these. Life has been really busy. Seems the challenge is figuring out how to keep everything balanced without losing ones mind. A constant challenge for sure. Hope everyone else is having a great fall. I am ready for the weather to cool off, but we sure have had some beautiful fall colors to look at. Also, lots of leaves to clean up, and acorns to clear off the drive. I am hoping the life cycle of the acorn is about done. I am so tired of clearing them off of the driveway for the boys to be able to play.

Coaster Calendar Gifts

I made these Calendars for our church Bazaar, and they turned out super cute. I think they would make great gifts for teachers, secretaries, or anyone else you can think of. I used the Tea Time paper from the summer mini, and used some heavy weight chipboard coasters that are 4x4 inches. This was really fun.

Pretty Sparkly Christmas Ornaments!

I had so much fun making these ornaments yesterday. They were really easy, a little messy and time consuming, but easy. I got the idea off of Splitcoast Stampers. Just rinse the inside of clear glass ornaments out with water. Get as much of the water out then add 20 drops of reinker to the ball. Slowly swirl the ornament until the entire inside surface is covered. Turn upside down on paper towel to drain excess ink out. Next, using a scrap piece of paper, make a cone and pour some glitter or Dazzling Diamond glitter into the ball. Place thumb over opening and shake ball until entire ornament is covered. Pour remaining glitter out onto paper. Caleb loved rubbing his hands in the glitter then rubbing them together to have sparkly hands. I added a matching ribbon to the top of the ornament to use as a hanger. Caleb helped me make these, and after I left the kitchen, he decided to continue to play with the glitter and reinkers. Needless to say, one container of my glitter was completely filled with riding hood red refill. I actually managed not to lose my temper over it. Of course, Gene was the first to find it, and got the initial cleanup mess. LOL! Anyway, we both had fun, even if there was a mess to clean up. The ornaments turned out great! I plan to put them in the United Methodist Women's Bazaar here in town. Hopefully they will sell and make some money for the cause. The colors I used were Riding Hood Red, Blue Bayou, and Wild Wasabi Green.

Season of Simple Grace Faux Embossing

I love this card. The picture does not do justice to the true color. This is the new In color Baja Breeze cardstock and DSP. I also used Not Quite Navy as added accent. I actually changed the ribbon from the one in the photo to Baja Breeze ribbon once my ribbon came in. The one in the photo is Blue Bayou from last years In Colors, which goes well with the card, but is no longer available.

Snow Swirled Christmas Tree

Here is one of the cards from my Christmas card class. It uses the new incolors ridinghood red and kiwi kiss. The tree and tree topper come from the new set Snow Swirled. I love the build-a-brads, and used it to add some dimension to the top of the tree. I also used a Hostess level 1 stamp set for the greeting. Super easy and Super Cute. I put dimensionals behind the riding hood red cardstock holding the tree to give added dimension as well. Enjoy!

Caleb Fishing

Here is another page I did on the retreat weekend. It is using the same Simply Scrappin Kit. Again, it is from our vacation this last summer. Today we are having fall windy weather. I of course am enjoying the cool weather, but I don't think anyone else is. I hope we get some snow here this year, but won't hold my breath. We are enough further south, that I don't think we'll get much. One can hope though. The boys are hoping for snow too. I haven't told them that it is unlikely. Know reason in disappointing them unnecessarily.
